# FIFTY: The 6-Minute Film I Waited 30 Years to Make

It took me more than 30 years to make a 6-minute film.

From the moment I saw Toy Story in 1995, I wanted to make 3D animated films. I started learning 3D modelling and animation at 13, but for decades, they remained hobbies, and making a film remained a dream.

That dream eventually became **FIFTY**, a science-fiction short about time, care, and the quiet weight of being needed.

This last year I’ve had my head down building Perzimo, a health and fitness platform for women in midlife. Three weeks ago, I accidentally came across the [Higgsfield Global Film Festival](https://higgsfield.ai/contests/higgsfield-global-film-festival?ref=elnahla.com) with only 10 days left to submit.

I figured the tight deadline would limit how much time the film could pull me away from Perzimo. To feel less guilty about the detour, I decided to connect the film loosely to Perzimo, but only insofar as its heroine is a middle-aged woman.

I went with the first idea I had. 

FIFTY is a story about the challenges women face and the sacrifices they make, inspired by what I had seen in my own mother.

I wanted to look up and thank her, and for the film to be a postcard that could somehow reach her in the heavens.

There’s a lot more to say about why I made FIFTY and how I made it. For now, here is the 6-minute film I waited more than 30 years to make.
